Description
When the Bible says we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” it ain’t playin. Blaise Pascal once said that humans “are halfway between immensity and that which is infinitesimally small.” The more our technology allows more precise measurements, the more he appears to be correct. Case in point: the circulatory system. The average adult has 100,000 miles of blood vessels running throughout their body. This is equivalent (roughly) to twice the distance of Interstate miles in the United States. This piece of data art tries to communicate these amazing realities. My hope is that it engenders wonder in you, the viewer, and, as I said a couple days ago when considering the size difference between moon and sun, that these mind boggling mathematical facts would move you somewhere towards worship and awe.
